Twingo RS

2012 Renault Twingo RS

New Renault Twingo RS, which will go on sale from mid-March 2012, features the sporting interpretation of Renault's new styling identity, including a dynamic grille design with four lights and a front bumper incorporating an F1-style blade. This detail, which now runs across the Renault Sport range, recalls Renault's success in Formula 1. The hallmark Sirius Yellow finish will be available as an option from the end of May. The rear end of the car features a tailgate-mounted lip spoiler, a special bumper incorporating a diffuser and aerodynamic extensions on the rear wheel arches. Also available is a Design Pack which includes Grey/Dark Gunmetal Grey door mirror housings, F1 blade and RS lip spoiler, plus chrome details for the fog light surrounds. It will also be possible to specify new 16-inch 'Emotion' alloy wheels complete with 'R.S.'-badged centre caps which proudly proclaim the car's pedigree.

Trademark Renault Sport yellow stitching will feature inside Renault Twingo RS (on the steering wheel, seats and dashboard cowl), while the dashboard, radio console, rev-counter housing and lateral air vents all come with Gloss Black inserts. The top of the steering wheel, seat backs and cushions, rev-counter surround and manual climate control controls are picked out in white.

Renault Sport expertise

New Renault Twingo RS brings the driving enjoyment and sporty performance associated with Renault Sport Technologies' experience of motorsport to an even wider audience:
•a feisty, normally-aspirated 1.6 16V R.S. engine (133hp/98kW at 6,750rpm, and 160Nm of torque at 4,400rpm),
•outstanding road holding with the standard Sport chassis. The optional Cup chassis (ride height lowered by 4mm) is an exceptional feature in new Renault Twingo RS's class,
•big brakes: 280mm-diameter front discs and 240mm-diameter rear discs,
•unique for a small hot hatch: the optional RS Monitor, a functional and fun on-board telemetry system.

Despite its exceptional performance credentials for its class, Renault Twingo RS boasts low CO2 emissions (150g/km, a saving of 3.2 percent compared to the former version) and fuel consumption (6.5 litres/100km, a saving of 3.0 percent).

A promise of quality supported by a network of specialists

Since its launch in September 2008, Renault Twingo RS has emerged as a top-three seller in its class (A segment / Very High Performance), with sales totalling more than 10,000 vehicles.

Like its bigger sisters, Clio RS and Mégane RS, new Twingo RS is supported by a network of 350 Renault Sport specialist dealers across the world, for expert servicing dedicated to performance cars.

Twingo Gordini RS: the 'French Touch', plus premium features as standard

Thanks to its instantly recognisable style, 17-inch diamond-effect black wheels, leather trim and automatic climate control, new Twingo Gordini RS defines sporty chic in imitable fashion with its twin stripes. In addition to the blue interior option, a new grey interior can now be specified, irrespective of body colour (Malte Blue, Glacier White, Pearlescent Black or Vif Red). New Twingo Gordini RS adds a touch of refinement to the attraction of the Renault Sport range.

Colorado Concept

2011 Holden Colrado Concept

Holden has unveiled a striking concept version of its next-generation Colorado dual-cab ute at the 2011 Melbourne motor show – confirming a sportier look that will not just be aimed at tradies.

The showroom Colorado goes on sale in Australia early next year as a “dual use” vehicle designed to act as both a commercial workhorse and family vehicle.

The concept also sends a warning to Ford and Mazda, who are showing their Ranger and BT-50 twin utes in Melbourne that are also blending the work and play aspects but go on sale months earlier than the Colorado.

Holden boss Mike Devereux says the all-new Colorado reflects the increasing popularity as lifestyle vehicles.
“One of the trends we see for utes in general is moving away from a utilitarian use for them,” he says.
“There’s going to be a much cooler lifestyle edge to these types of vehicles rather than being just a ute that goes off road, tows things and the tradies use.”

Holden’s show car is the third Colorado concept in a matter of months, following Chevrolet-badged versions revealed in Thailand – where the Holden will be produced - and Argentina. The new Colorado, bigger than the outgoing model, has been designed in Brazil, with input from Holden’s design team that also gave the Holden concept a fresh look for Australia. Holden’s concept is coated in a special metallic paint the company is calling Red Rock, features LED headlights, tail-lights and daytime running lights, and includes a hard tonneau cover. “The real aim was to get Holden’s sports performance influences into the design,” says Ben Last, Holden’s 26-year-old exterior designer for the concept.“We wanted a refined yet tough look for the Colorado. We’ve also added a hard tonneau, which really adds to the sportiness of the vehicle.

“The wheelarch flares have been exaggerated a bit, and there are showcar details such as the LED lights and specially designed 20-inch alloys, but what you see is quite true to the production vehicle.” Last says the new Colorado will target buyers looking for a lifestyle-focused vehicle by offering passenger comfort that’s integrated rather than an afterthought. It will also offer more accessories than before. “What we want to do is be able to allow people to up-spec their vehicle with accessories so it can look more like this showcar. “It’s all about the look on the road. A lot of people are using them as lifestyle vehicle; it’s not just the workhorse. Holden’s colour and trim department has also gone to work on the concept interior, adding sporty leather seats, suede trim, and LED interior lighting. Holden has confirmed the Colorado’s engine line-up will include a downsized turbo diesel that shrinks from 3.0 to 2.8 litres.

The Colorado will also spawn an SUV model that will also be created in Brazil and is likely to come to Australia.

DS4 Racing Concept

2012 Citroen DS4 RCING Concept

Citroën has sold more than 180,000 DS line models worldwide since launch. The adventure continues at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show with the reveal of the Citroën DS4 Racing Concept. As with the DS3 Racing, the engineers at Citroën Racing and the styling team have firmly stamped the DS4 with the image of the Brand's racing department.

Making its world debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, the Citroën DS4 Racing Concept features "100% Racing" attributes. The chassis is 35 mm lower than the regular model and track is 55 mm wider at the front and 75 mm wider at the back. The concept car also sports an air diffuser, a front bumper panel, a lower-body belt line and wing extensions. Citroën Racing has tweaked the 1.6-litre turbo engine to develop 256 bhp, or 160 bhp per litre - a record for a series-production car. This spectacular performance comes hand in hand with controlled CO2 emissions of 155 g/km.

Citroën Racing engineers have also redeveloped the running gear with the utmost precision. The concept car is equipped with four-pot, fixed calliper brakes at the front, with special discs widened to 380 mm in diameter, and shod with larger, 19-inch wheels (235/40).

Another stand-out feature of the Citroën DS4 Racing Concept is its matte grey, textured-effect paint - a first in the automotive sector. The grain of the paint catches the light differently and further enhances the body styling, while the colour is sober, modern and robust and ideally suited to a sports car. To refine the exterior aesthetic, the concept car gets a two-tone roof and specially-designed, twotone wheel rims.

Fortwo

Smart Fortwo Sharpred

The latest special edition from smart has been christened sharpred. This smart fortwo is a real eye-catcher as the intense red of the tridion safety cell and door mirror housing forms a striking contrast to the rest of the exterior in black. The smart fortwo sharpred is available as a coupé (from €14,490) and as a cabrio with a 52 kW mhd petrol engine or a 62 kW petrol engine. The exciting special model can be ordered now and the first vehicles of this limited series will reach dealers in May 2012.

The exterior of the smart fortwo sharpred edition is characterised by the striking contrast of elegant black and extravagant red - creating an effect like the red neon sign of an exclusive bar against a black night sky. The bright red paintwork of the tridion safety cell and door mirror housing catch the eye, whilst the rest of the exterior comes in black. The front apron and rear trim panel are grained and the side skirts boast a high-gloss black finish.

The front and rear axles are fitted with wide tyres measuring 175/55 R 15 (front) and 195/50 R 15 (rear). The 15" 3-double-spoke alloy wheels also have a brilliant black finish.

The interior also features striking contrasts with red double stitching on the seats and the instrument panel lending coloured accents. The seats come in black leather and the instrument panel and knee pad have a black leather look. The standard equipment includes the audio system basic and exclusive floor mats.

The smart fortwo sharpred special edition is limited to 1800 vehicles. It is based on the passion equipment line, which means that standard features include softouch automatic gear programme, electric windows, air conditioning with automatic temperature control and a panoramic roof with sunblind. Electric power steering, heated seats, a lockable glove compartment, the smart sound system with five loudspeakers, the smart audio system navigation/multimedia and further equipment are optionally available.

2012 Smart Fortwo: The New Look

Stuttgart. The spring of 2012 will see the smart fortwo making its mark in a striking new look, featuring an upgraded exterior and a fresh leather/fabric mix in the interior. The smart fortwo is available for ordering now. The first vehicles will reach dealers at the beginning of April.

The substantially revamped smart fortwo sports a markedly more dynamic appearance, featuring a larger radiator grille with integrated logo, striking front aprons in a new design, horizontally arranged LED daytime driving lights, muscular side skirts and modified rear aprons. "The way in which the fortwo now displays the smart logo more prominently stands for the brand's new self-confidence," notes smart boss Dr Annette Winkler." The smart fortwo has long become an icon that is a defining feature of urban traffic throughout the world."

The chrome-coloured logo is now positioned directly in the black radiator grille. The air inlets under the number plate have been combined into a single unit, lending the smart fortwo a bolder appearance. The new, optionally available LED daytime driving lights are now arranged horizontally. There is also a choice of three new alloy wheels: the smart fortwo passion comes with a new 9-spoke alloy wheel; two additional alloy wheels fitted with wide tyres and featuring a 3-spoke and 3-twin-spoke design respectively round off the range. The choice of colours comprises seven options, including matt anthracite for the first time. The smart fortwo BRABUS Xclusive is now also optionally available in white. In addition to the three soft top colours for the smart cabrio which were previously available from the smart programme (black, red, blue), the smart BRABUS tailor made programme offers six other soft top colours.

While the main focus of this facelift is on the exterior, there are changes inside the car, too. These include a new, high-quality interior package in crystal grey, comprising a fresh leather/fabric combination for the seats, an imitation leather/fabric mix for the door trims and black imitation leather for the instrument panel in combination with a grey knee pad.

The pulse and passion equipment lines are generally more colourful options than the basic pure model. pulse and passion highlight the frame of the front grille and the rear trim strip in silver, for example, while the front spoiler, side skirts and rear apron are painted in the car's exterior colour. The door mirror caps are finished in the tridion colour. On the smart pure, these components are black.

The five lines – pure, pulse, passion, BRABUS and BRABUS Xclusive – are to be retained. Similarly, the smart fortwo will continue to be available as a coupé and cabrio version and with six engine and motor variants. The spectrum ranges from the particularly environment-friendly electric power train in the fortwo electric drive and the efficient micro hybrid petrol engine through the powerful turbo petrol engine to the fuel-efficient cdi turbodiesel. Prices begin at € 10,275 for the smart fortwo 45 kW mhd pure.

The new model generation for 2012 represents the continuation of a unique success story for smart: as a trendsetter the smart fortwo has been redefining individual urban mobility for more than ten years now. It combines responsibility to the environment and high ecological standards with joie de vivre and a high fun factor. With its compact dimensions the two-seater takes up less road and parking space than any other car around.

More than 1.3 million smart fortwos have been delivered to customers since the first model was launched in 1998. 101,996 smart fortwos were handed over to customers worldwide in 2011 – 4.6 percent more than in the previous year.

The car2go mobility service is also attracting growing numbers of fans. Over 2000 smart fortwos are currently in operation for 60,000 customers in seven cities around the globe. car2go is already successfully up and running in Ulm and Hamburg (Germany), Austin and San Diego (USA), Vancouver (Canada), Vienna (Austria) and Amsterdam (Netherlands). car2go will be launching in Lyon (France), Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Washington D.C. and other cities in 2012.

The NISMO 370Z does not adopt the new front fascia/rear reflector, Euro-tuned shocks or Midnight Blue exterior color.

"Since the original 1970 Z® was first introduced our goal has always been to keep the design moving forward. The changes for 2013, though subtle, go a long way in enhancing its dynamic appearance inside and out," said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division, Nissan North America, Inc.

As in 2012, the 2013 370Z Coupe and 370Z Coupe Touring will each be available with a standard 332-horsepower 3.7-liter DOHC V6 engine and choice of 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed automatic transmission. Its 3.7-liter DOHC V6 engine is matched with an exclusive H-configured exhaust system design, muffler tuning and optimized ECM (Engine Computer Module) control - creating 350 horsepower and 276 lb-ft of torque. Only one transmission is available, a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission with standard SynchroRev Match®, which allows rev-matched heel-toe-like downshifting.
